Texoma beats em' all.. I crown it roughest over falcon, amistad, rayburn, ray bob, rc, twok, and Conroe... Been on them all in rough conditions and Texoma shows no mercy. Period end of story.. I've honestly speared a wave in a 52ft boat on Texoma!

Texoma (seen 50ft boats get tossed around like ragdolls) Thats driver not lake. No lake in Texas should be able to produce waves big enough to slip a 50 footer. Tell that to the guys that owned the house boats on Amisted that sunk a little over a year ago! Someone from Amisted probably has more details about the "worst day". A cousin and 2 guys were stranded on an island at Amisted with a sunken boat back in the early 80's before the lake went down and came back. They were in a 22' and took a wave over the side and sunk like a rock - March, no one looking for them for at least 3 days - Mexican fisherman found them and called in several hours later. Worst day of my life on water was just a month and a week ago on Amisted. Had a pretty bad one on Choke with 40mph one day.

Conroe should get the "washing machine" trophy. It can get rough on days with moderate wind and thousands of rec boaters. On the weekend it's not too bad before 11am. Then they begin to shake off the hang over from the night before and head to the lake to display their genius.

Lake Corpus Christi is to small to be the roughest, but its the windest. Has to be the roughest small Lake I've been on.
Wind blows so hard on the South Texas Coast it will blow the feathers off your Chickens.
Thanks, Billy

I was there.. It was during a BassChamps tournament. Not for sure about wind speed that day I heard more than one report of gusts to near 70. there was indeed two of those 45 ft houseboats that were swamped. As it took them several weeks to salvage them. Also numereous bass boats. swamped, sank or blown on the rocks. We started up around marker 16 then Came back To burro before it got real bad..we managed enough fish for a top ten. but it took us over 2 hours to get in from burro.

It seems like no matter where youn are at on this lake, the wind is beating on you. Besides, Conroe doesn't need any wind to be rough. Hundreds of recreational "wave makers" and bulkheaded property frontage makers it a real mixing bowl.
