Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone elses.

It will take a few days to see if it had an impact.

Nothing going on up here, we need some rain to the NW. Maybe the next 36 hours will do it....

Very little rain so far here in Kyle, S. of Austin. And we're in the center of the extreme drought area.

I don't understand why they treat Grapevine that way. A couple of years ago they woudn't let water out when the lake was up 20 feet. Now that it is 10 feet low and we get some rain they let it out.

I realize that they do what they do for a reason, but I just wish they could try to maintain the lake level a little better.

4.4 inches of Rain in Center Point, TX. A lot more fell in the water shed area's for the Guadalupe, Medina and Colorado River drainages. The Medina river, the Guadalupe at Rebecca Creek and the Colorado at Colorado Bend should benefit a lot from this rain. I'll tell you the status of the Guadalupe river at Center Point in a little while as I have to go to town (Kerrville) and I cross it. I cross some feeder creeks too that have been dry. If they are running again then the river should benefit.

My wife and I launched last weekend on Lake Ray Hubbard at the ramp on hwy 66. We knew would did not want to go onto the main lake because it was so windy but we wanted to test the new trolling motor and fish finder. New Trolling Motor and Fish Finder

The water level was awful! You could not stray away from the ramp area without getting bogged down in the mud. The water was so low you could not even use the small dock, my wife had to jump in from the boat ramp. I got stuck a couple times trying to come back to pick her up. On the way back in to the boat ramp we made a straight approach in and luckily we were going very slow because we hit a sand/mud bar in about 1' of water and we were quite a ways out from the boat ramp.

Are there better lakes in the DFW area for this time of year and low water levels that you like to use?
