I took the eyes of it, and taped a nail to the end and used it for picking up trash at a volunteer park clean up. I had the lightest trash poker there.

As far as the reel seat is concered, I posted this problem on the Kistler website about a year and half ago and no one said anything about any shims. The rod is a He66MHC and the reel thats on it is a Curado SF.

I have 5 LTA's, 4 LTX II's, and 4 Mag. All are great. I do prefer the LTX 1st, Mag. 2nd, and LTA's 3rd. All rods will break if handled wrong, by accident or neglect, accidental or not, but you can't blame the rod companies for that. If I bashed every rod company who's rod I broke and didn't buy from them again I would have to use a pool stick and nylon string. I will go on record and say that most of the rods I have broken are my fault. Maybe it's because I drive a GMC truck.....Why can't we all just get along?

3 LTA's, 1 Crankin Rod. Very satisfied with my Kistler rods and the company. I like when an owner will openly give his testimony to the Lord on his company website.

Tamale, I have the exact same setup, and have no problems with that. What year model is the rod?

I have one Kistler, and the eyelet on the tip was broke and shredded my line. I contacted Kistler and they sent me a new tip and instructions on how to install it. Unfortunately the same thing happened again, so I am going to replace it with a different tip. I like the rod. And I know some people are probably saying that I am doing something to break the insert on the eyelet, but that rod (and all of my rods) went into a case everytime it was stored.

Well tamale, all I can say is you are not very wise! You can take any broken Kistler to Cabelas and they will exchange it no questions asked, maybe you should throw $260.00 on the ground and practice picking it up with your homemade stick!

I own the following LTAs; 7'H, 7'MH, 6'9"H, 6'9"MH, 7'M. I purchased all of them used and have only broken one 7'H on a rock fish when I first started fishing carolina rigs on braid (still working on the hookset method). In my opinion, the 6'9H and 7'MH are two of the best worm rods out there (depending on the length you like better) and the 6'9MH is my absolute favorite senko rod. I have fished Falcons, St Criox, Dobyns, GLoomis and customs (TSS, Gblanks) but not Powell or Hendricks rods for reference.

Having said this I am switching over to GLoomis and Dobyns due to the warranty. I don't mind the money that they are priced at but better warranty and just as sensitive rods are out there.

Here's my models:

6 Helium II's 7ft. Heavy
5 Helium II's 6'9" Med. Heavy
3 LTA's 6'9" Med. Heavy
1 LTA 7 ft. X-Heavy
3 LTA Custom Drop-Shot rods
2 Mag. All purpose rods

2 8ft. Swimbait Rods (I use them Striper fishing)

I have been very happy with Kistler. Great company with a great staff.

Are you sure about this? After I contacted Kistler and was heartbroken, I tried to do the Academy trick and take it back to Cabelas and they wouldn't let me.
What Cabelas did you do this at? I would like to take my Kistlers that I have now and exchange them for another brand. Would they let me do that?
