Went out this am and caught a few around the iland and then moved over to Murrel and caught quite a few on the dropoff many many doubles but most leaned to the smaller size. Decided to take a break and ease toward the rock crusher and before I got there the wtr erupted. I shut down and proceded to catch more fish than I have ever caught before. They never stopped working the top but the larger ones were on bttm as usual. I stayed in that 50-60 yd area for about an hour and a half and between the shad and the fish the screen stayed basicly black. I never did see another fisherman the whole time I was there, but the party boats were busy but it would just get them stirred up and start them going crazy again. I ended up leaving them biting just like I found them. Boated between 150-200 easy. I kepted 14 to clean. Mostly just the gilled ones. As usual the lures were the Mouse and RJR's Rattlin Beast w/ a Jig-um tag along. Allen

Ok. You got our attention! We are headed to the Vine at 6:30 this evening. Any last minute advise? What depth were they?

At Murrel they were on the dropoff from 24' to about 33', All were in the 24' range. At the Iland they were on top of the drop in 15'. The rock crusher they were from top to bttm (30') The little hump was East of the buoy about 200 yds. Top was 22'. Good Luck!!!

Nothing like that good 'ole' surface activity.

Looks like my ankle is getting better by the day. It may be time to revisit some old stomping grounds. Thanks for the report. Sort of.

We fished a couple hours until dusk. Saw two or three schools come up but it was short lived with all the boat traffic. Everyone sand bass fishing looked to be catching just a few fish. At least we didn't get skunked.

That is a great report and I am looking forward to those schooling topwater fish. I need to get back out there this week. Maybe sneak away from work early and get in a couple hours of fishing during the week.

Nice catch. Glad to hear it's good on the Vine. After my weekend on Texoma of getting skunked Grapevine is sounding real good.

I have been on the TFF for about 6 months now, and I hear everyone refer to the rock crusher.
Where is that on the lake? I normally fish, meadowmere, island, bubbles, twin cove.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yankee, the rock crusher is located about (roughly) a 1/4 mile west of twin coves, just slightly North of mid-lake. It's marked by a bouy. There are humps roughly 100yds around the bouy. Those humps are the rock crusher area. Some lake-maps/navionics chips have it marked.
