I had the Falcon Weightless Worm rod and didn't feel it had enough backbone to get a good hook set. I really liked the Falcon otherwise. I now use the Shimano Crucial CRCX610MH 6'10" MH and feel I get good hook sets and move the fish away from cover a little better.

I use the Dobyns 733C. This rod was designed for throwing senkos, flukes, spooks, spinnerbaits, and toads. It is very well balanced. The sensitiviy is also great, which has really helped me hook up better when getting light bites. I throw a rattlesnake a ton and it really is a great rod. The 7'3" is also nice for helping take up that extra line when setting the hook.

Thanks for all of the info. I think I will need to go and feel the Falcon Cara t7, Powell and Dobyn's rods. This will be fun.

I prefer a St. Croix Avid, Legend Tournament, or Legend Elite in the __C68MXF, or __S68MXF.

Falcons are good rods, untill you fish with a Powell.

Do you know the similar model numbers for the split grip ones?

XRAP, the longest split grip Dobyns rods are the 7 footers. If you like the split grip, take a look at the 703C. A buddy of mines got one of those that i've fished and its a really nice rod. Light tip with a lot of backbone. I would contend that a 7'3 rod isn't going to make that much difference fishing a senko and is probably overkill anyways. The longer rods sometimes just get in the way depending on the cover you're fishing.

Using a Hendrix Rods 783 IM8, not listed on the website. Call Michael for details on one. I had him build me one, and I have caught a ton of fish on it. Here is a 9# it handled real well.
