TPWD wardens are another branch of law enforcement. I hope this answers your question.

Expired license=NO LICENSE. If you don't pay for a new license, it's like driving on an expired license. That's your A** mr postman!!!!

why is everything so exciting to you?
I think the no license fees vary by county...I had one in wichita falls on sept 3rd and it was actually $225 including court costs..I fished not even thinking about the old one expiring on aug 31st...I had a friend that left his and didn't pay it for a few years, it went up to $1200. A warrant went out and a routine traffic stop turned into some nights in jail. Good stuff.

I don't really know what to type here.

KrazyQ - FYI - you are required to show your CHL whether carrying or not.

what if you do not have your license on you, i don't like to carry mine if i'm walking a long distance, 'fraid i'll lose it. Is there a penalty for that, or can they check since its tied into your drivers license?

I believe you will still get a citation for it. I had a buddy that recently had it happen to him. I think you can get it dismissed if you fax in a copy showing you did have a valid license. You are always required to have it on your person.

I think whatever county your citation is written is where you have to go.

JP court in the county where the offense occurred will be where to go. The judge will ask the warden how much the fine should be "hint hint it's always a good idea to be nice even after the warden gives you a citation".

Dont understand why people make such a big deal about carring it on them, its not like its alot of trouble. If you get asked to show it it takes just a few seconds,if its not on you it takes more fishing time and the warden time to issue you a ticket. So make it easy on everyone and have it on you and make sure its current. It cant get any more easy than that!
