Thanks jb.....
But being new to throwing for tilapia, I was wondering whether or not you could actually see the tilapia or the movement of same in the water before you throw? Kinda like you do with shad or mullet.

No I don't look for them, I catch lots of bream mixed in. Some days it all Tilapia and others its a mixture. Find the cattails and start out in six of so feet of water if not there work in and back out until you find them. The lake is loaded you should be able to catch all you want in a short period of time. I caught the ones pictured above in less than 30 minutes, along with an ample supply of smaller ones, and bream to use for bait.

A couple of guys and myself are thinking of coming down to Fairfield the end of Feb to try to get some Tilapia and Reds. Anyone have an update or info on how we might be successful. Not asking for honey holes. Thanks

Just wondering for those guys familiar with Fairfield...................the thread above talks about catching tilipa with a cast net (back in Sept when this thread was started)
can you still catch tiliapa in a cast net by the cattails this time of year with the success that Jackieblue had?
