A beaver around 30lbs on a blue fleck power worm. Caught in the back foot. When I was reeling him in I thought I would do him and me a favor (I'm cheap) and get him close to the boat and pull the hook out. When he got about 15 foot from the boat he rolled over on his back and showed me his teeth. I decided the 15 foot of line was his and I really didn't need the power worm or hook.

I've hooked but never landed seagulls that dove at my topwater below denison dam. Also as a kid I hooked my friend's dad in the neck with a pop-r while chasing schooling stripers on texoma. The first thing he said was "you better be a dam good swimmer". oops.

I hooked a monster loggerhead fishing shrimp for catfish in a pond. Scared the piss out of me because it was fighting like a fish...

I've caught all kinds of birds. Biggest a Drake Mallard.

Hooked a 'gator (accidentally) at the pond in Eisenhower Park. It was about 3 feet long or so. After 15 minutes i got 'em about 10 inches from the bank, where he let the lure go and it almost nailed my wife standing behind me. Gotta love topwater frogs. Maybe it's the weather we've been having lately, but I don't see him around these parts no more.

Caught a sea gull once...boy was he upset...scariest was the snake my wife caught. She caught a small catfish (10" or so) late one night and couldn't get it off the hook. She left the pole in the water up on the land (water was high). I got up at 6:30 to go take the fish off and lo and behold, a snake had come up and ate the fish and now he was stuck on there and he wasn't happy!

I cought a huge loggerhead turtle when I was a kid. I will never forget looking at my Dad when I saw the back of it. My Dad stuck a stick over an inch thick in its mouth and that bugger bit it right in half.

Alligator snapping turtle on a H & H spinner. When in college couple of buddies and I were fishing in a private lake we were not supposed to be fishing in. I thought the lake was full of wrist sized trees that rotted off just above the waterline. The trees were snaping turtles. I snagged this one behind the jaw and thought I had snagged a waterlogged limb. That turtle would not have fit ina no. 2 washtub.

Largest non fish I ever caught was my 300# friend. I threw the lure over a limb and gave it a good pull to get it over. It bcame all the way back to the boat and got him in the back side.

About a 6 foot long moccasin, I hooked him in the tail with a white rooster tail while I was fishing on EM for Whites over by the power plant. Needless to say, I didn't even try to land him. He floated up about 5 feet from the boat so I pulled real hard about the same time he was pulling in the other direction, the line broke and wasn't too worried about losing that lure. He surfaced again a little closer to the boat so my buddy and I quickly laid our rods down and picked up the oars in case he tried to get any closer or get in the boat with us.

Fishing off the shore at Crystal Beach one day and caught a HUGE Kemp's Ridley sea turtle. Man, that things head was a foot across. My buddy sat on his back while i got the hook out. Had to let it swing it's head to the side as far as it could before i tried to grab the hook. I wouldn't want to get bit by one. It took off and swam away. Found out later I was supposed to call a game warden so they could tag it. Oh well, not the kind of info every angler knows about.

I've extracted a hook from a tame mallard's tongue. He couldn't Eat but he was not pleased about being caught, but was happy to be able to eat again after I let him go. I didn't care to pluck him, but I love duck in orange sauce....Eddie
