Guys guys guys....My mother used to say a little sugar will attract more flies than all the sh&t in the world. These are Texas country folk who do not react well to "in your face" activism. Here is a little secret, you will get no where fast demanding anything from these people. And rightly so. This is Texas, not California. Be polite. And personally I think our politicians have more pressing business than when to open Lake Granger. It will open when it opens. In the meantime fish another lake!

Cvillemudcat-Nasty. I don't care how many fish you caught, fishing on an outhouse is just plain wrong.

GuyM- It is spelled Georgetown.

Hey guys, I was driving across the dam this morning. There was some people working on the dam gates, they said that they were going to close the gates for some repair. I asked, How long will it take? they said it could take a day or up to a week!

Should I get my hopes up? This is an email response I got from the Corp folks today.

Currently the boat ramp at Wilson H. Fox Park is the dry out stage. This takes anywhere from 10 days to three weeks depending on weather conditions. We have currently been in the dry out stage for only 2 days at this ramp. If we get no more rain, and conditions remain similar to the past few days we are hopeful that the boat ramps could reopen in about 10 days.

Taylor Park has been in the dry out stages for a longer amount of time than Wilson Fox Park. We are monitoring this ramp, and are hopeful that it will be able to open sometime on Friday September 28, however it could be closed till the following week should the area not dry as fast as it currently is the next few days.

Willis Creek Park and Friendship Park will remain closed until repairs to damaged infrastructure are repaired. Currently there is no timeline for these repairs, as more damages are being discovered as the lake level continues to drop.

Thank you for your interest in Granger Lake.

I'll buy you a beer, several of them if the ramp opens. Hopefully I'll have my own fish to clean.

Keep on fishing.

Sounds like a party to me! Sabot said that he would clean the fish for free. I'll be sure to supply some beer too if it opens up!

Broke One,
As of Oct 1 (Monday) you will not need a parking permit for Taylor. The camping closes down and the gate is always open until March 1. I know you like Fox but with the high water there will be limited space to dock your boat at Fox.
