Very sad, and maybe embarrassing.

It's a beautiful vessel.

I used to have petroleum ships moving to ports all over the place. There’s this thing called “air draft”. It varies with tides, but tells you what your bridge clearance is, like the highway overpass signs do. I’ll assume they knew the air draft, but lost control of the vessel and drifted to a lower part of the span. But, I am being kind, and incompetence could be the culprit.

Said they lost stearing leaving the dock.
