Can't we just schedule them all on the same day to get it over with?

Every day I wake up is a holiday. Just being blessed to be on this earth is good enough for me.
We were poor and my parents were out of town most of the time for the military during holidays, birthdays, etc. We didn't really celebrate them like others. It didn't make me bitter, it made me learn that there's more to life than gifts. Now days, I cook feasts for my family on holidays to remember where I was to now.

Yes, we do have to many holidays. After working 31 years in the grocery business, I hated every holiday with a passion. I spent the last 15 years of my working career in O&G manufacturing as a production facilitator and finally enjoyed being off for holidays.

Let’s cancel Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and birthdays too. ... I'm Okay nixing Father's Day and birthdays... But Mother's Day is essential... If it weren't for her I wouldn't be here... And her giving birth to me has nothing to do with it... Dad would've killed me a couple of time in my teenage years if Mom hadn't interceded... Dan

Anna Jarvis is widely credited with founding Mother's Day in the United States. She organized the first official Mother's Day celebration in 1908, inspired by her own mother's efforts to teach women about child care. Jarvis later campaigned to make it a national holiday, which President Woodrow Wilson officially established in 1914. She also grew to resent the holiday because of its commercialization and tried to have it boycotted/rescinded.

I’m thinking that all of these holidays were just proposed by greeting card manufacturers, so they could keep a steady dose of sales. Like most everything else, greeting cards have become way overpriced for some card stock.
My other theory is that possibly the government made all of the holidays, to help constantly stimulate the economy.
Definitely too many of them though, except for holidays that get our office closed down for the day, we need one of those every single week! Lol
