All of us kids were taught by our crusty great uncle, who was a retired Texas Ranger captain. A saltier old dude you’ll never meet.
He taught us all to be prepared. The cool head wins every time. What he beat into us was the rule of threes. 3 yards 3 rounds 3 seconds.
If you are prepared for the rule of three, you’re prepared. Can you easily pull your piece, get three on target rounds and do it in three seconds? Most can’t.
From 3 yards, if you are carrying concealed, I'd bet I could put my two hands on YOUR weapon before you could get it lined up for a shot on me. Even if you were using a level 2 on your hip, then I'd say I could do so 5 out of 10 times. Don't get me wrong - 3, 3 and 3 is a great training mindset, but also add in the knowledge that your target is moving at the same time as you are drawing your weapon.

If you weigh over 300lbs, please don’t use the word “tactical” and try to lecture others on “tactical advantages”.

Y'all do know all that old-school training was centered around a revolver, right?
A 6 shot...revolver. ~4" barrel length.

If you're carrying a weapon...You become the most polite person in the room. You become Grey.
And what makes you think that you're the potential victim?
Nobody ever says the mindset, "If you pull a weapon on me"..." I'm going to take it along with your shirt and shoes".
Your the predator. Not them. Your the one with a check on emotions...not them.
There is no threat within 10 feet. There's a free meal testing the universe.
That all sounds really nice and well thought out. The reality is something different. More like a lightning bolt. One second you're good, the next second you're not at all good. Out of all the brothers and cousins that went through uncle Jay's sessions, the only one that has actually put it into action was a girl cousin who removed the face of a would be car jacker in New Orleans. One second you're fine and about to drive away from the gas pump, the next second a car load of thugs blocks your way and jumps into your face to take your stuff. Lightning bolt. Are you prepared?

One of the reasons they made open carry legal, is that before it had to be concealed. If for any reason someone saw your concealed gun like in a grocery store, you just broke the law! Making a law to conceal or open carry, did away with that rule!

One thing for sure. If you've been on the fence about buying a chronograph. Better get it done soon.

Most of us are in trouble if the bad guy acts suddenly and without warning. If he runs his mouth or acts in a threatening way a few yards from us we have time to prepare mentally and physically. If he acts quickly, before revealing his intentions, we will most likely end up in a wrestling match to see who can control our gun.
It seems that luckily a lot of situations build, giving good guys time to get ready. If carrying provides us an advantage most of the time, but not all of the time, it's still a good thing.

It's a lot harder than you think it would be. That's why it was beat into us. Which is why capacity is not anywhere near the top of priorities. That first shot is what counts.

Anything made in Chi-Na is going away and quick... I have to wait til the 1st. Already blown through this month’s paycheck I keep reading on the low down media, no cargo ships in port. Showing pictures of vacant lots which are regular full of containers. It's starting. I wild arse guess, in three months, it'll be full blown. All the shooting accessories are either gonna get rare or they'll be three times the price. Looking up a Garmin Xero C1 Pro. The latest and greatest chrono. It's a big fist thrust of $600 bucks. So I wouldn't be surprised if it's $1200 by the end of summer... or sooner.

I was never questioning your expert tease. I'm certainly no expert, but this is why I always carry a feather in my hatband. Bright red. Right side. Open and exposed. If you're inside 10 feet, you might just get a little tickle.
