Playing Miami Shores golf course for the first time, dont have a tee time.. pro puts me with another player by himself... Luis meet Louis.. I get paired with former Red Sox pitcher, Luis Tiant.. a legend in the south Florida Cuban community.. He is about to play on some celebrity golf tour, I think he was in his 50s at the time... he is doing most of the talking, we are in separate golf carts.. I am beating him like a drum and on the tenth hole... I have a 5 foot putt for birdie and he hits second shot out of bounds.. no hi, no bye, just takes off for the club house pissed off. I had to run him down in my cart to get him to sign my score card... he wasnt happy but he signed it! lol, that took some balls to go flag him down...

I was invited to play a golf tournament a few weeks ago, a scramble, by one of our vendors. One of the guys we're playing with has alot of power, but he isnt hitting them great that day. So, we're a couple of holes away from finishing, and were playing a par 5. Someone hit a drive a good distance down the hole, but off to the right of the fairway. So this guy gets up there, smacks this ball, and it immediately has trajectory off to the right towards this house. Wam. Glass breaks. Owner is at home and comes outside. Argument ensues about who is going to pay for the window. Man, that was awkward, and I was just a spectator.

I hate teeing off in front of others as well. Always afraid of topping it or just making a bad shot like we all do. I had to wait on a 4some last year in Cloud Croft and the group behind me caught up, so I had no choice. A par 4 that you could not see the green because the fairway dropped off completely after 120 yards. My drive was perfectly straight and barely cleared the huge drop off and ended up 30 feet from the green. It made me really good when a few of the golfers in the group that was watching said "nice shot".

Wondering why your ball was wet after sinking a putt only to realize someone had pi$$ed in the cup. We had a guy in our college foursome that liked to do that.

Setting the hook, feeling the pull... Then nothing... Reel up and see it broke at the knot... Then see the fish thrash on the surface a couple times, the bait fly one way and the bass the other... Dan

Getting invited to play at a high end private golf course by a friend. On the range and he mentions two "buddies" are going to join us. My friend is a 2 handicap, but i'm closer to an 8. Up drive his two "buddies". Don January and the club pro. The feeling on the first tee was pretty intense. But I have say Mr. January was really a cool, ladi back guy, and for his age could still play lights out. I think he shot 66 or 67. They were giving me anything within couple of feet (putts) and on the 6th hole I had about a 4 footer. Don said, "that's good son". I turned back to him and said, "Mr January, if you don't mind. I know I suck. And I know you know I suck, but I ain't taking 4 footers!" He about fell over laughing. The rest of the day was a blast!
