I hit a pitching wedge on the 9th hole in Abilene many years ago into the teeth of a strong wind. Perfect strike, good loft until the wind caught it. It actually blew the ball back at me, landing about 10 ft in front and rolling to a stop about 5 ft behind me.

Pimp walking out of the box watching your for sure home run get caught at the warning track, saw this by a 13u teammate of my son this last weekend. It was hilarious...

Bomb casting at a target before your partner can cast over to it and pulling out back lash while your partner, who waited until he got closer and made a good cast, yells get the net.

Tee box between shot markers was all tore up so I tee up just outside the right side marker about a foot or so. Line up my drive and swing away. Somehow the lower shaft of my driver hit the metal marker and severed the club head clean off. Golf ball went about 150 yards and club head about 50 yards.

Of course another foursome waiting right there behind us got to see the embarrassment.

This could turn really dark, really quick if we expand this to include bad news, health diagnosis, etc... lol

Doing some work on golf courses in my younger previous life. Working with Jim Fazio on some design courses in California. Jim and his brothers invited me for a round in Palm Springs, site of the old Dina Shore Open. I had nothing with me so he loaned me a bag of clubs. Playing as a fivesom, the course was closed. We had it all to ourselves. Of course all the Fazio’s are scratch golfers. First tee, I hit last and completely whiffed. Stepped back gathered myself and damned if I didn’t hit it in the same place on my second swing. Needless to say, I spent most of the round picking up my ball. The humiliation was most decisive.
