A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

This is true. As a trucker I see it a lot up north. In the rain or snow they like to drive with their flashers on. They still want to speed up so I can’t pass, so it’s not a speed issue.

We are taught 4 ways come on once vehicle speed drops to 45 or less. Once I’m over 45-50, the flashers go off. It would be a perfect world if we were all on the same page here.

I like and support this idea

If someone’s hazards are affecting my visibility either in front of me or behind me, I’m too close to that vehicle, and I fix that issue.

People drive different in cities like DFW, lots of stupid going on.

yup this.

If it is raining hard then everyone is or should be below the posted speed limit with headlights on. Flashers are unnecessary.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Yep. Brake lights are so people know you are slowing down/stopping/stopped. Running lights are so people can see you. Turn signals are for turning. The only other thing hazards are for is so you can tell EVERYONE you are a BIG OL FLAPPY “P” at the push of a button, not needing to open your mouth and roll down the window.

Didn’t it help you see? Because it DAMN SURE DOESNT HELP OTHERS SEE! If you’re scared, pull over in a parking lot and wait till the weather is back in you’re threshold of diving ability.

One thing you can count on, they'll be two fisting the steering wheel and leaning against the air bag with face almost to the windshield.

I don’t think it’s a matter of scared. Have you ever noticed trucks with heavy loads crawling up or down a hill in mountains going under 45 with their hazards on?

If people are just driving around with the flow of traffic, passing people, and braking like normal they shouldn’t have their hazards on, but there is certainly a place for using your hazards other than being broken down on the side of the road.

If you’re only comfortable going 45 while a bunch of people that don’t probably know what they’re doing are going 75, you’d probably feel safer with your hazards on so they can maybe see you before they plow into you.

I’ve lived all over the country, and the worst drivers are folks in the south in a snow storm, and it’s not because of a lack of plows or salt truck, it’s a lack of experience.

Ha well the last snow storm I was in down here the vast majority of vehicles were stuck on the side of the road because they have no idea how to properly drive in it.

I don’t think any of them had their hazards on in the ditch roflmao

Well. If they’re in the ditch, at least they were out of everyone’s way. No need hazards in the ditch.
Stupid yanks would steer into the flashing lights and hit em in the ditch.

Beyond annoying. So much flashing you can’t tell what’s going on.

Well.

Glad we got that squared away.
