Makes it real hard to tell when they are braking or changing lanes.

I think it’s a thing in other parts of the country and they’re here now.
This is true. As a trucker I see it a lot up north. In the rain or snow they like to drive with their flashers on. They still want to speed up so I can’t pass, so it’s not a speed issue. We are taught 4 ways come on once vehicle speed drops to 45 or less. Once I’m over 45-50, the flashers go off. It would be a perfect world if we were all on the same page here.

But what if they are in the middle lane just going the speed of traffic? This is stupid, if that’s what they’re doing. Anyone who has been in the interstate in a heavy snow storm will appreciate slow moving vehicles using their hazards. The type of snow that closes everything down here for the week or more, that nobody knows how to drive in.

With the /wind and rain yesterday and a fully loaded trailer hell yah I flipped the hazards on and cruised. I could barley see anything yesterday morning all the way to the job site in Plano.

When people turn their hazards on in front of me during a heavy rain it makes it harder for me to see. If you are able to drive the speed limit and you have your hazards on then you are an idiot. if you have your hazards on and you are in any lane other than the far right lane then you are an idiot. If you have your hazards on and you are passing people then you are an idiot.

To me it means they’re going much slower than the flow of traffic or speed limit because of the conditions.
They don’t want to get smoked because someone wasn’t expecting how slow they were going…
I don’t usually do it, but I have turned my hazards on if the traffic on the interstate comes to a standstill and there is traffic quickly approaching me from behind. Mostly because I got smoke hauling my boat by someone that flew up on me from behind.
I appreciate it when people do it. This is how I see it.

Transplants just creating more glare on the road and making it harder to see. Perfect logic.

it has kept me from rearending a few times. In a small car low to the ground, when it rains visibility can be almost zero. I do it myself occaisonally. Way more distracted drivers on the road today.

Texas Department of Public Safety a few years ago was promoting using flashers during rain.
I see they have stopped, I was always told it was for emergency only, I find it odd and dangerous to have them on while driving unless you are having car issues and can't go very fast, and like trying to get to side of road.
