Different days, different lighting, different outcome.

Yep, the eyes age like knees and shoulders, and rarely stay like they are 25.

Addendum: I do take eye vitamins, and HOPE they work.

I am not even 60 and had to have cataract surgery and a partially detached retina repaired already. Only in my right eye. Just a little near sighted in my left and no cataract. Eye surgeon things it may be from years of boxing and getting jabbed in my right eye. Now i see almost 20/20 distance in my right but can not longer read without glasses.

I finally had to get glasses to pass the eye test for my drivers license a year ago. I don`t need them to read anything and never wear them inside except when I watch TV. I have floaters in my left eye and a slight cataract. The glasses absolutely saved me last year when we had to spend so much time in Dallas when my grandson was in the hospital. There is no way I could have ever driven over there at night and been able to read the freeway or street signs. I feel like I still have pretty goods eyes since the only time I absolutely need to wear them is when I`m driving at night in an area where I'm not familiar with.

Medicare still pays some when you get the upgrade. The upgrade is costing me $7,000 at Baylor Medical. This is in addition to what Medicare pays.
The EOB has not posted but the claim shows facility paid $1,709.99 for the left eye.

Bifocals cost me the worst infection I ever had. I launched the boat and tied to a t-head. When I went back to the boat I turned right about a foot too soon. Scraped my shin really bad. It took six weeks of anti biotics to clear it up.

I had cataract surgery last year. I had 20/15 in both eyes until I hit 45, then it was readers, then stronger readers and finally glasses. After cataract surgery, I'm good with 20/20 in both eyes. No more prescription sunglasses!

Anybody go with the Toric lens for astigmatism? Any eyeball techs on the OT?

I had LASIK surgery probably 25 years ago. Fixed the issues I had at distance. That still good. Up close is the issue now. Worse in lower light. I Wear +1.75 readers. I went to Berkeley to see what they could do. No LASIK for this. Lens replacement was the needed solution. They gave me contacts for one eye. I struggled to put them in at their office. I came home, put them in the medicine cabinet and there they sit. Kept with the readers.

Lens replacement was about $10K. Doc said give it a few years and insurance will pay for a good part of it.

Getting old is not cool…..lol.

That ain’t a lie. I had no clue red dot astigmatism was a thing until all my expensive red dot sights turned into red pixelated blobs. Having to swap an aimpoint PRO for a green ACOG. Unfortunately trijicon doesn’t have green pistol sights
