Insured paying for the uninsured Truth how is that? we have to pay a lot for our insurance & i think it is obamacare just the fact that you can't understand the scenario is scary . Do you actually think insurance companies just absorb the loss of uninsured ??? If someone is uninsured, then no insurance company is paying anything to/for them because they are....wait for it....uninsured. Obamacare means the low risk folks are paying for the high risk people because the insurance companies have to take them. .

In the end it always falls back on the taxpayers.

In the end it always falls back on the taxpayers. it always falls on two groups of people --- tax payers and the middle class . Teds' comments above are silly and ignorant . Insurance companies ALWAY 's bake in the cost of premiums and services due to those that never pay but still use services . If an insured car is rear ended by an uninsured car ---- the premium's of the insured car are high enough to cover the repair , based of calculated data of total uninsured vehicles ---it's baked into the premium of the insured . Medical coverage and services are no different . In fact , I would argue that medical services are WAY worse . Small companies and individuals are penalized for not being a part of a " large " group when it comes to monthly premiums .

Remember when they claimed ACA would take care of the unpaid medical services problem that hits hospitals/ERs? Yeah, that really worked.

Health insurance companies have never paid a penny of the medical cost of the uninsured. The uninsured use the emergency room and state and federal taxes reimburse the hospitals

Hospitals were charging $5.00 for an aspirin 30 years ago. Medical expenses have been a ripoff for as long as I can remember. But....competition, right?

Forcing insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions sounds like a great thing, but of course it causes everyone else to pay higher premiums. It's just common sense. We're ordering a for-profit company to accept a premium of a few hundred dollars a month for a person they know will cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars, maybe more, in medical expenses.
It's basically the same thing as forcing State Farm to issue a homeowner's policy to me if I call up and tell them my house is on fire.
Insurance companies aren't going to eat those costs. The rest of us make up for them.

Do you know that before the ACA, if you had a heart attack or were diagnosed with cancer, your insurance company could and would refuse to renew your policy when the time came? There were also maximum limits to the coverage.

The Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, did nothing to make healthcare more affordable. Prices and premiums only went up, way up. Thanks to that [censored] we all have a version of major medical at an inflated price Yipee. I was on COBRA insurance 2 times in my working life between jobs. Both BCBS almost Identical coverage .Before Obama Care in 2009 it cost $400.00 a month Later in 2014 it was $2400.00 a Month. Just my experience.
