I put some Louisiana Hot sauce on the filets, let them sit 3-5 minutes, then put in Louisiana corn meal and on to grease. The Louisiana adds some great flavor but does not make the fish hot. When eating the fish you would never guess the filets had hot sauce in them.

That’s a tough one if a little personal batch I’ll lean towards one or the the other usually beer batter. If I’m frying for a party I will do a variety . Beer batter spicy , reg beer batter, crispy cornmeal reg , crispy cornmeal spicy.
It takes me a couple peices to get the proper heat and consistency dialed in but when I do it’s on baby !!!

I've seen him catch a lot of crappie while bass fishing. He constructed some homemade crankbaits for bass. They catch some bass but they are killer on crappie evidently.
