It's all good until a recession hits and people lose their jobs.

Ramseys advice is solid for the most part. There's a new guy called Caleb Hammer that is quite entertaining to listen to. You can find him on Youtube. He's basically like Ramsey, but is a lot harsher on the guests.

He’s popular on TikTok too. He takes no prisoners.

If you're reasonalby well versed in economics and how to handle money, then you don't really need Dave Ramsey. That weeds out probably 75% of the population world wide. His advice for those folks is pretty spot on.

Grew up reading the Scott Burns column in the Dallas Morning News. Ramsey's advice is a simplified Burns/Orman monetary management philosophy.

I started following Ramsey in 2005. Got out of all debt minus the House in 2008 and have never looked back. The over use of CC debit use is going to come crashing down one day soon and it will be clearance day sales on toys (boats, RVs and such) and possibly some land.

I loved his program so much, I did it twice! I listen to his podcast on the regular and one of his with in the past year was about leaving the legacy that is Dave Ramsey. He loves his job and will probably die doing it, but yeah, he is pulling his strings out of the management of the company...and it's been showing, big time. Before he started removing himself, it was more of a in your face "here's the info, take it or leave it." Now it seems like a non stop barrage of marketing emails and probably 3 texts a day, trying to get me to buy more. It's suffocating to the point of barf now.

We have a few credit cards that we never use except for one and we pay it in full monthly. I have no idea what the interest rate are for them. A few months ago I bought a new lawn mower at Lowes and was going to pay cash but applied for their credit card for an extra discount. Was shocked to see that their interest rate is 36.99%.

I’ve missed some fun things in life, but just can’t see taking on high interest debt. Not the way I’m wired. Have a relative that blew through a fairly nice inheritance in less than 5 years and has lost some relationships do to the fall out.

Have 2 cards, but pay them off each month even if it comes out of savings. Also have a Care Credit Card which has a nice 0 interest feature built in, but you have to watch their terms because the rate is 30% if you don’t pay it by the stated date.

I thought there was a cap on rates that could be charged. 36.99 is insanity!
