First graph shows a longer history of CC debt to CC interest rates. Second chart shows CC debt to personal savings. Last chart shows the most recent data on CC debt.

Stretch those charts out a bit wider and there's no cause for alarm. That's how charts work right?

The last 4 years increase is less of an increase than the Biden 20%+ inflation, … so we’ve got that going for us.

It's fascinating how people can be ok paying 21% interest ... ugh, that's an expensive hole to climb out of.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

For the first time in years, I had to put a balance on a credit card. My truck needed work, a lot of work, in December. To the tune of $6600. I didn't have all of it in savings, so I had to dip into my credit card use. It will be paid off in 4 months, so I'm not planning on carrying over that much for more than 6 months.

Oh, and I did it smart. I used an old card that had maybe $100 balance, put $5000 on it with the repairs. Knowing that I had just applied for a new CC with 0% interest for balance transfers into 2026. AHAHAHHA

A long time ago, there was a TFF’er who was in the credit repair business.

After he mentioned what he did, I was stunned to see how many people did the “help me” and “PM sent” posts. Defaulted mortgages, mountains of credit card debt, repo’d cars, medical debts (no insurance), etc., were popular comments.

It was a stark reminder of how reckless a LOT of people are with their personal finances.

People don’t want to listen him- they think his advice is outdated, they are wrong.

It’s just the sad truth.

These people don’t understand 1% from 21%.

My family is full of them.
