I'm not on the water if there's ANY possibility of electrification. Got a patio umbrella mounted in the forward seat post, works great.
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Frogg Toggs, because I don't get on the water anymore in weather that requires my old BPS 100MPH gear.
The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

I have a set of these. Don’t get too wear them much out here but the little I have they are pretty nice. And they take minimal space.

How's the inseam on these - I have a heck of a time finding larger bigs where china does't just assume a 260lb American guy must be 6'-6" tall .

I have two sets - in Florida we don't see much cold weather, so have a pari of REI brand rain pants and a Cabelas Guidewear Anorak/pullover both in GoreTex Pro. They are lightweight and stay in the boat most of the year, but I also have a Simms ProDry set which is heavier duty (but not heavy) that I will bring when it's cold or if I know it's going to rain most of the day, as it is a much nicer rain bit/jacket set.

Nothing on earth is actually waterproof I’ll bet you hate that.

Nothing on earth is actually waterproof This is sort of accurate and brings you to the crux of the problem. You can get a rubber rain suit that is waterproof, but you'll sweat to death wearing it any time other than in the winter. Same problem with Bass pro 100 mph and Cabelas guide wear. Pretty good at repelling water, but so thick you wind up drenched from sweat in Texas. They can be great if you live up north. If you go with anything in the 100-300 dollar range, it either plain doesn't work or is so thick it might as well not work. This has been my experience anyway. Eventually you realize you have to get the thinnest quality gore-tex suit you can find. Turns out none of them are cheap. Then you have to take care of it. You need to store it properly (not all bunched up in the bottom of your boat locker). It has to be washed a couple times a year with Gore-tex safe soap. It also has to be sprayed a couple times a year with gore-tex water replant and properly dried. Lastly, you need to wear it properly. Tight the cuffs and draw strings around the neck and head. Otherwise, water gets in when you cast etc... and you become convinced it doesn't work. Buy a quality suit and take care of it and you'll be happy.

The 35 dollar academy pvc suit keeps you dry. It is not a fashion statement nor is it comfortable, but it works well for little money. Folding it bac, back, and putting it in that little bag is impossible though

I have a pair of the Academy H2O from 3-4 years ago. These have been my favorite set to date. I have an older pair of BPS GoreTex that are way too big for me now. When I bought them, I weighed 20 pounds heavier. I keep them in my garage for those days when I take others out and there's a chance it rains. I also have a pair of packable rain pants / jacket. They are thin but work to keep you dry for the most part.
The Academy set is perfect for me. It repels water very effectively, keeps me dry, not too warm, not too cold, etc. Best $200 I've spent on a rain suit.
