In basic training they made us call home and gave us the dimes. And made us write letters lol.

Remember seeing pay phones and phone booths everywhere. Always had a fear of getting trapped in a phone booth and not able to get out.

I remember party lines. I also remember when my grandparents got a touch-tone phone and it was sooo high tech.

I used to work for a company that installed, removed, and refurbished payphone booths and inclosers for Southwestern Bell in Houston and the surrounding countys.
