I bought this Browning reel for dirt cheap. I don't understand the centrifugal/magnetic control. Both the outer dial and the inner part of it turn. Normally you turn the inner part to a number to [Linked Image]
increase or decrease the brakes.

Any ideas?

I only fish with Lew's reels and they all have this type of adjustment. Set the reel as you do all your others and then dial in the left side to help with drag as you cast lighter baits, against wind, etc. Mine are all set on 5 to 8 as needed. I won't use another reel that does not have this secondary system.

I have had numerous baitcast reels over the years. This is the only one I have seen that has this kind of adjustment. It was built this way for a reason so I can't just set it like I have done all of the others.

Take the side cover off and show me a picture of the braking system and the spool. I’ll figure it out.
