In comparison to a head turner how stiff/fast is it? I’m looking for something to skip docks and bushes with, typically with a 1/2oz jig. Would also be used for toads and heavier swim jigs and stuff in close quarters. I’ve been using the head turner and it’s great but I’ve been schooled a couple times with big fish under docks. I’ve heard the eyecrosser is a short Amistad? Curious if anyone has used one and can compare it to the head turner as far as power and tip. Thanks

Sounds brutal and stiff. I use a Lizard Dragger for what you are doing. I like the tip and 7’ length. It’s makes controlling the speed of the cast effortless.

The eye crosser is a bit stiffer and a bit faster tip than the head turner. It actually feels a bit stiffer than the Amistad, but that's mainly because it's shorter; there's just less rod to flex on the eye crosser.
The eye crosser can skip heavier stuff nicely. Though, I also think the lizard dragger is a bit better for skipping overall as it loads the weight of the lure more. The flex helps accelerate the lure and it seems easier to dial in the angles for me at least.
I'm splitting hairs on these comparisons, the eye crosser is very good at skipping 1/2+ oz jigs and it's my favorite rod for medium cover jigs, plastics and frogs where accurate close casts are needed. But specifically for skipping, I think the lizard dragger and even the Amistad (if you're not short like me) are slightly better for that purpose.
I think the name throws some off on the lizard dragger; it's an under-rated highly versatile rod in Falcon's lineup.

Another vote for the Lizard Dragger. It is a good C-rig & worm rod like the name implies but it’s my “all around” rod too. Spinnerbaits, square bills, bladed jigs, swim jigs….almost everything….including what you’re talking about.

Eye Crosser is a better frog rod to me. Lizard dragger is a better pitching/casting rod.

I use it for my swim jigs and skipping. I like it better that Head Turner for this. I use my Head Turners for spinnerbaits, I like the Amistad for Frogging, Jigs and more. Skipping isn't my forte so there might be a better option. But to me it's cross between the two rods.
