Israel has every right to defend themselves. They can do whatever they want as a sovereign country. It's not clear to me how maiming a bunch of people improves their security position, but hey what do I know. That said, I want no part of paying for the war they are attempting to start. Happy to supply them with whatever they want to buy though. Israel started this war…are you FKN kidding? are you FKN kidding?

Okay, fair enough, I have no problem with that. They've repaid it all 1000X at this point, but hey their choice. I understand very clearly Hamas and Hezbola are supported and directed by Iran. If Israel wants to start a war with Iran, okay, fair enough. I just don't want to pay for it. Jews and Muslims (or their predecessors) have been killing each other in this region for thousands of years. We can spend another 20 trillion just like we did in Afghanistan, but guess what, when all the dust settles, there are still going to Jews and Muslims in the region killing each other. We learn absolutely nothing from history. It does not matter how much money we throw at this problem it is not going to go away. I'd prefer to just keep the 20 trillion here.

This region no longer plays any role of meaningful strategic significance to the US. It used to matter because the US needed to make sure that its allies with blue water navies had access to oil and gas out of Saudia Arbia. Notably Japan and parts of western Europe. All that changed because of the shale revolution. Not only can the US produce enough oil and gas for ourselves, but we can produce enough for our critical allies as well. The region simply doesn't matter to us anymore. We've shed enough blood and treasure over that desert waste land.
Israel is a sovereign country. They have every right to defend themselves. I support them defending themselves. I'm also happy to supply them with weapons, but as a wealthy country they can pay for it.

Anything used to rid this world of muslims terrorists is a good thing. I fixed it for you! I have friends who are Muslim and they rule! They are not all the same. They’d be cultural Muslims- not true believers. I dont know about "Cultural Muslims?" They go to Mosque and are from the holy lands. One is from Iraq and one is from Egypt. They are quite "American" in a lot of ways though. I get that. I mean they been here since they were small kids. Is being a "Cultural Muslim" like being a T-Shirt Christian? You the ones who only follow Christ when it suits them? Believers vs. actual Followers? I have a bible verse memorized for just such occasions... Matthew 7:1 “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again” Good on you Dan90210. Why can't more people think like you? It's hard to find decent people these days. The kind of unadulterated codswallop coming from certain people is truly astounding. Unfortunately, people who have the mentality of "The only good Indian is a dead Indian" usually pass it on to their offspring through their DNA, and we have yet to find a cure for it. As Johnny Tillotson meant to say, it's called "bigotry in motion". So, for all you bigots out there, here's what the Quran says about Mary and Jesus in the chapter called "Mary" - Surah 19:19: The Archangel Gabriel said to Mary "I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy. Mary said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me, and I have not been unchaste?" The angel replied "Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him (Jesus) a sign to the people and a mercy from Us."

As long as your man loves at the EPA keep stalling the permits for the refineries to start changing over to process shale oil we are stuck importing heavy crude for fuel.

Light sweet crude that comes out of our shale isn't great for making diesel or jet fuel, so yes, we import some heavy stuff from Canada and Mexico. Very little comes from the middle east these days and we can shut that spigot off anytime without missing a beat. I'm not well versed on the politics around permits for the refineries. My understanding has been they haven't been swapped over because most of them signed long term contracts with producer's. example: Shell in Deer Park with PEMEX in Mexico. In any case, the core point remains. The US and its core allies are no longer dependent on the middle east.
