Man...if you need it that angle grinder is the thing. I have the Dewalt version. It's come in handy more then I ever thought.

I bought an off brand 1/2" cordless one just to keep in the truck. I love my Milwaukee, but I'm not buying one just to keep in the truck as a spare.

Nothing says steal me more then yellow or red.

I got a friend that has 90% Ryobi. He spiffs up rentals after a move out. He has everything from a caulking gun to a job site table saw. Drills, sanders, router, and circular saw. All cordless besides the table saw.

He's never said anything about a Ryobi blowing up. Never heard him complain they don't get the job done.


The only Ryobi I have is a cordless weed trimmer. It's everything I use it for. No complaints.

I bought a HF Hercules 1/2" drive last spring. Sucker has power but I bet it weighs 7 or 8 pounds. Gotta man up if using it in an awkward position.

My son has the top line Bauer from HF and is a mechanic and uses it a lot.

Ryobi's are a damn good product for their price point. I know many people who use them, none of them professionally.



Same here. You just can't beat the durability. Watched as one of our crew dropped a Yellow impact off a ladder while putting up siding. Hit the hard dirt and exploded. Didn't break...exploded, into a 100 different pieces.

Had been gathering my tools to get some work done on the house and they mysteriously have left the building which REALLY pisses me off, but just bought a new kit from the orange box store for what I consider a decent price. Charged up the batteries this morning about to get busy building.

Honestly, once you've committed to a certain battery by a certain brand, you'll probably be locked in it for life. I still have all my original Milwaukee tools from over a decade ago (minus what has gone missing) and have only burned up one drill and that was kind of on purpose, to find out how much more the ol' girl could take.

I’ve dropped these things more than I’d like to admit. But….thankfully, they just keep on keeping on.

This is the “truck gun”. Kinda unimpressed.

I have a battery-operated Makita impact wrench which I like. Used it last month to change out a tire on my boat trailer and just used it last week to put new wheels and tires on my wife's golf cart. It's nice because you can adjust the tork of the impact.

A good pair of impact resistant gloves come in handy with the Milwaukee. It will rattle your hands pretty good. Leaves ya feeling all tingly. [/quote]

Dad had an all metal Milwaukee drill. You couldn't kill it. But one Christmas, about 30 years ago. I was given one of the small Dewalt kits in a bag. Drill, charger and two 1ah batteries. I had only experienced Dewalt in their corded miter saws before that.

This was when cordless started to hit the market in full force. I put that little drill to the test. One step below abuse. It never failed. I still have it and the same batteries. The batteries still work. One battery has a cracked case. Being used on a Dewalt drop light a friend is borrowing.

Then as the years progressed. Another Dewalt and another. Never anything to complain about. Complete Satisfaction.


Edit; the amount of time I've had Dewalt. It's not 20years... it's over 30.

i tightened a couple nuts w/it to see if my buddy's dewalt 20v impact could remove them. it couldn't, and the hf removed each in about 2 sec but, it is a 3/4" drive, and it's extremely heavy it's good piece of mind when towing, which is about all i do
