I like the copper colored Loomis crankbait rods a medium or medium light rod would be good for the application you are referring to.

Falcon Buccoo 7’ M. It’s a great square bill rod and what I caught my PB on.

It can be a little “weak” feeling with flurocarbon. Works great with braid.

Best I have ever used was the no longer produced was the Castaway Lure Launcher series, especially the Mini Launcher.

I said enough is enough when I bought a GLoomis IMX Pro 843C CBR, it is a great rod for small crankbaits. $350+ range I think, a few years ago, full cork handle

Castaway launcher was my absolute favorite crankbait rod. Had one forever, and when I broke it by accident I was lucky to find another. It also met a similar fate one day, and I have since found similar blanks. Med heavy fast tip (nope), med and a soft tip is my go-to. I now have four different rods that are about the same feel, each a little different in their own way and have their use. But no fast tip for me with a crankbait, I want it to load up (with good sharp hooks). But I would love to have another castaway launcher (the telescoping gold and brown weave model). If you have one and want to part with it let me know.

Spring time when throwing big line around heavier shallow cover I like a Dobyns 706CB

more open water or rock I like a 7'3" 4 power rod, the length helps with both distance and a little more give to maximize landing fish.

I use a G Loomis IMX-Pro 906C CBR - big rod I use for main body points and shell beds when I need super long casts. Handles 1.5 - 2.5 pretty well. I use a Duckett Incite DFIC 700M CC Crankin rod for back in creeks and skinny water when casting windows are much tighter. For really big square bills and deep divers - I use a Shimano Zodias ZOC79XHA.

I have a little bit older (cork handle) Curado rod that is not glass that I really like for 1.5-2.5 size squarebills. It is a 7'2" Medium Heavy Moderate although it is slightly faster than moderate.

This post is probably worthless though since they don't make this model anymore.... crying

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! This is so awesome.

Same answer as the best reel question. Been chomping at the bit to talk about those expensive rods I see. That humble brag must have been burning a hole in your deep pockets.
