What a classic sham.  Personally, I find the sign language interpreters to be distracting and with the advent of closed captioning, why use this? It's for the deaf/hearing impaired people in the audience...closed captioning isn't happening live at press conferences and the like. I learned what little I know in third grade because we had a deaf classmate. I was way ahead on my classwork and my teacher asked me to learn what I could so I could communicate with her. I have some deaf clients now and it does help put them at ease that I can sign some. I am trying to learn more so I can communicate better with them.

Best? Sure. But I think actors using empty cups, cans and whatnot to make us all believe that they’re drinking something is the biggest fraud.

Best? Sure. But I think actors using empty cups, cans and whatnot to make us all believe that they’re drinking something is the biggest fraud. I beg to differ, the biggest fraud is breast augmentation.

They can livestream it in real time and or see the text on a caption projection and read it. There is no need for the antics and facial distortions. 30 years ago? I can see it. Today, no.

Thanks, but it is more than 10. Every official no matter where, on every newscast has a sign interpreter going at it. Technology. Let's start using it. My hearing is bad, I turn on the closed captioning on the TV so I can read it.
