There was an ASL interpreter at my niece's college graduation. Don't know if she was making it all up as I only know some signs and all the alphabet, but she'd make it through the first few letters of a name and stop signing. About halfway through they asked her to stop. Lol

What a classic sham. Personally, I find the sign language interpreters to be distracting and with the advent of closed captioning, why use this?
