I agree, NRX+ are in a league of their own. I have all of mine paired with Shimano Alderbaron reels.

i felt a NRX and picked a envy black III over it. personal feel i guess I have never fished one but have heard several great things about the Envy Black 3. I have had two 13 great fishing reels that were fantastic. They feel so good in the hand.

Why you gettin rid of all your drop shot weights? You just bought the best fairy wand made! Maybe upgrading to tungsten so you can really feel that hard spot? So far I haven't really liked fishing a drop shot. I don't know if it's just me but I am always getting the line all twisted up and it pisses me off.

The question I ask when deciding what to pay for a rod is will I hold one end of the line and shoot the rod into the water to knock a bait loose. If the answer is no then I don't buy it. That's probably a pretty good rule. These new NRX+ are waaaayyy more durable IMO. I choose rods mostly based on how I feel when I fish it. Meaning is fishing more enjoyable with this rod or reel. The weight of the rod just makes it so enjoyable to fish with for long periods. Also if I find myself retieing all the time bc I don't want to use a different rod when others are available I know it's a keeper. I was super impressed with Mega Bass Destroyer Windbuster and almost kept it, but the rod handle is so short that when you catch a lot of fish it puts a lot of pressure on your wrist. If i am spending this much on a rod it should be perfect.

Or is this one better? I would enjoy trying it but I think NRX is as high as I go.

With all due respect, I have custom rods built with Loomis LMX C602 blanks with my choice of guides and grips for a little more than half this price.

Not sure whether a 'Congrats' or 'I'm sorry' are in order?!
Do they pair well with a Zebco 202?
Enjoy either way. Everyone has their definition of the finer things in life. A high-end rod like that deserves at least a Zebco 33+

What six hundred dollar reel are you going to get to go with it? Put a Daiwa Exist on it. Call it done. The rod should NEVER cost more than the reel. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2024/05/full-93588-224630-img_1873.png)

That thing needs a Stella
