I agree, NRX+ are in a league of their own. I have all of mine paired with Shimano Alderbaron reels.

I have never fished one but have heard several great things about the Envy Black 3. I have had two 13 great fishing reels that were fantastic. They feel so good in the hand.

So far I haven't really liked fishing a drop shot. I don't know if it's just me but I am always getting the line all twisted up and it pisses me off.

That's probably a pretty good rule. These new NRX+ are waaaayyy more durable IMO. I choose rods mostly based on how I feel when I fish it. Meaning is fishing more enjoyable with this rod or reel. The weight of the rod just makes it so enjoyable to fish with for long periods. Also if I find myself retieing all the time bc I don't want to use a different rod when others are available I know it's a keeper. I was super impressed with Mega Bass Destroyer Windbuster and almost kept it, but the rod handle is so short that when you catch a lot of fish it puts a lot of pressure on your wrist. If i am spending this much on a rod it should be perfect.

I would enjoy trying it but I think NRX is as high as I go.

With all due respect, I have custom rods built with Loomis LMX C602 blanks with my choice of guides and grips for a little more than half this price.

That's awesome. Did you build them? Are they as sensitive as the NRX? What do they weight?

Do they pair well with a Zebco 202?

Enjoy either way. Everyone has their definition of the finer things in life.

A high-end rod like that deserves at least a Zebco 33+

Is this the rod that was used to compare the Trika rod too?

Put a Daiwa Exist on it. Call it done.
The rod should NEVER cost more than the reel.

Its sacrilegious to put a Daiwa on a Shimano/GLoomis rod. That thing needs a Stella

It’s sacrilegious for me to recommend a Shimano product. [Linked Image]
