How would you like a serious answer? I've been using the MUUNN Fishing tungsten free rig weights from amazon. They come in a 10 pack for about $15 but it depends on the weight you choose as to exactly what the price is. I like the cylindrical shape the best, I think it goes through cover better. I've had great success with 3/16 for shallower and 3/8 for deeper. You cannot skip it but you can flip it easily to dock posts and corners and around light cover. If the cover is very heavy you might have better luck with a bubba shot rig, which is essentially a heavier drop shot with a short drop to the weight, like just a few inches. Or, you could put a bobber stop a few inches in front of the free rig weight to limit the distance it can slide up. Pick your favorite bait to use. I think stuff that floats gives a better presentation but in heavier cover maybe a compact creature bait or something? Good luck.

Thanks so much for just answering the question. I am going to try the 3/16 like you recommended. I usally fish smaller bodies of water but my father in law bought a place on Cypress Springs so I am trying to branch out. Thanks for the feedback!

Gotta come out some time bro, it's unreal good fishing and we just drive side by sides all over the property to the six big ponds. They are all manicured so you can get right on the bank no issues.

What advantage does the "free" rig have over a Tx. rig???
