Let's at least take welfare out of the tax code. No one should get more back than they pay in. Well pretty much anyone making under 50k doesn’t pay federal income tax but they get a lot of benefits.

A lot of forced activities being suggested around here…that’s not the country I want to live in. Yeah well I don't want to be forced to pay taxes to support govt. programs that encourage homelessness. But I will choose to stay here. Not to get too political, but doesn’t requiring birth control sound a lot more than china than America? It does, but on the flip side of that there is no denying China has a population problem. How do you expect them to handle it? We need a drives license to drive a car, but anyone can pop out kids without taking any responsibility for them, and receive benefits from the govt. for doing so. Is the answer to just keep on doing what we're doing, allow folks to drop kids as they want whether or not they can care for them? And a question for you - if an adult impregnates a 14 year old girl are there consequences? Why is that?

Homelessness is at an all-time high.
Who's to blame/fault for this. Our society, religion, government, etc.
How do we curb it and solve the problem?
I know the TFF has the solution.
Individual, poor decision making. Everybody is one bad decision away homelessness. I hate to say it but we’re to easy on people and the bad decisions they make.

Alcohol, drugs, depression, PTSD, mental issues, laziness, horrible money management, crappy disposition, are the majority.
A large percentage of Americans are about two weeks from bankruptcy. Riddled with debt and struggle to pay the bills if they even can. Constantly behind. Zero emergency funds. Any major thing like a vehicle repair can start a spiral. Some have family or friends that get them through. Others don’t. Work circumstances can drive them into a very hard to manage situation quickly.
Cost of living is ridiculous for the lower middle class and below.
It’s not going to get better.
We see it as horrible to be homeless. I know several people who have a close family member who is homeless. They think what is horrible is “being controlled by the man”. Give them much and they will throw it away.

Mental health is a big cause of homelessness. If yall can solve that you will make a big dent in it. Unfortunately we see a lot of veterans on the streets.
We deal with homeless people most every shift now. There are no easy answers.

Is the answer to just keep on doing what we're doing, allow folks to drop kids as they want whether or not they can care for them? And a question for you - if an adult impregnates a 14 year old girl are there consequences? Why is that? A. I personally don’t care what china does with their overpopulation problem. B. I don’t have an answer to government assistance for mothers with many children they cannot afford. It’s definitely a problem in certain segments of our population. I suppose you could phase that type of support out, and see if there are substantial problems, I think the country has a soft spot for single mothers whether they have 1,2,3 or 10 children no matter what the situation. C. In most states that’s referred to as statutory rape. Depending on the circumstance and the age of the offender it could carry anywhere from a slap on the wrist to hefty punishment. Why are there consequences for statutory rape?because our society has deemed impregnating 14 girls a crime - we don’t live in an Islamic state.

We deal with homeless people most every shift now. There are no easy answers. Again, Mark Laita, who has spent as much time and effort digging into homelessness as anyone I’m aware of, firmly believes that bad parenting is the major cause. He says if you peel back homelessness you get to things like what Fishspanker mentioned…”Alcohol, drugs, depression, PTSD, mental issues, laziness, horrible money management, crappy disposition”. In Laita’s opinion, many of those are symptoms, because if you peel those back (including mental health issues), the root cause of most can be tracked to bad parenting…it starts in the home during childhood. I can’t argue with his logic.
