this bridge is a big nothing burger in the east coast traffic patterns. if they wanted to do some real damage, hit the GW, Verrazano narrows, holland tunnel, 3 or 4 bridges around d.c.

then you would have a major problem.

The port that is now shutdown is the 9th largest in U.S.. Port being shutdown will be the biggest problem out of this. Company I worked for before retiring has a big RDC in Maryland. The RDC supplies product to all stores in the eastern part of the country. They source a lot of product out of Europe, Brazil, and Turkey. Shipping costs will be going up. Happy to be retired and not have to deal with the Logistics VP that I supported.

Biden said the government is funding the rebuild. I hope he is planning to seek reimbursement from the shipping company.

east coast car haulers are not gonna like it at all. looking at the steel on top of the loaded ship I am hoping they cctv the removal process. whole lot of stuff has to be moved before they can reopen. water beneath the bridge is apparently only 50', not much room for junk on the bottom.

What is the draft of container vessels?
The first generations of container ships used to have drafts of 9 meters. The Post Panamax Plus models have drafts of between 14 and 15 meters. The current Super container carriers, such as Emma Maersk, have a draft of 15.5 meters.Mar 22, 2021

I seriously doubt they recover any, tidal currents would drag them out, sea critters etc.

they have called off the search.

It's a shame that guy is always the butt of jokes. In the end he will get his.

I'm not aware of a previous terrorist attack where the attackers gave warning ahead of the attack to reduce loss of life..........

99.9% confident this was a horrible unfortunate accident and the Captain did everything he could to reduce loss of life.
