The only thing bad about Burnet Co. Park when the lake is full is that it bears the full brunt of the waves if the wind picks up. On Buchanan, that means real waves (Don't it F4F). Makes loading the boat the most exicting part of the trip. You can go further down the road and there is a boat ramp with a small fee that is sheltered and easy in easy out. Forgot the name.

Snakeman, Sorry about your wife. We'll keep her in our prayers. Glad everything went OK.

Thank you from Both of us. She is moving around a little bit today. She is getting sassy now so I think that is an improvement. And we can ALWAYS use the prayers grin

If anyone has an extra seat in their boat for "Mecatchem", he said he'd like to go this Saturday to Buchannon. Today is his 78th Birthday and he still acts 39.......

Thunderbird Lodge is where I launched at last summer. They had just finished building the place. Very nice. It is down by the dam on the east side. Quick run to Flag Island an' some other hot spots and as you say better wind break for loadin' yer boat. Think it was five bucks but you had to go inside and register as a guest. frown ......but nice concrete ramp an' good security. thumb

George T, if you launched at the dam on the East side, you were at the new Big Chief RV Resort. They have a pay ramp and the cost is $5. This Resort is on Highway 690. Thunderbird Lodge, Burnet County Park and Silver Creek Resort are all located off Highway 2341.
