Good Mornin' folks. Was wonderin'....Is the reason for not fishin' Belton mostly lake access difficulties or is it that when flooded the fish jus' don't bite? Me an' Clyde needs ta know? We're gittin' a might restless. smile

Anyone going to Buchanan this weekend?

I may try if I can get away from work long enough to go.

Anyone put in recently at Burnet County Park where the tourney's gonna be? Last I was there was a year ago an' it was one of the few ramps left in the water but it looked mighty steep. Was wonderin' with the lake back to normal is the ramp not so steep? I gotta lightweight frontwheel drive tow vehicle which may keep me from enterin' the tourney. Thanks. smile

Am thinkin' on tryin' Buchanan sometime this month but may have to launch on the south end. I launched last summer at what used to be Burnet County Park South down by the north end of the dam. It's now a RV park but you could launch there for 5 bucks. It's relatively close to all the main lake striper hangouts, Flag Island, Striper Island, north and south Humps etc.

Hey John! FishTracker, Ram, Myself and anyone else wanting to join us will be on Buchanan Saturday.. Ram is fishing early, so might just have to try the early bite too..

George, the lake level is about normal, so the steep ramps are no longer steep I would guess.. We got caught in the wind last weekend!! I know better next time.. We are more than likely to launch from the north side of the lake, It's a long haul coming from the south side..

I might be in for the Buchanan trip! Are you meeting somewhere and driving out together? Where? When?

UPDATE ON THE KIDFISH EVENT!

I spoke with the POC a couple of days ago. His events are usually held at a private or public ponds. Like Cove City Park or Carl Levin in Heights. They stock it with fish a week or two prior and provide all of the bait and tackle. The kids also get some sort of goodie bag to take home.

They can do two types of events: a fishing derby style for most fish caught or just a fun fish.

This comes at a cost. He requires a $2500.00 sponsorship fee. I have asked my boss if Papa John's can pony up half of it and write it off as advertising. We'll need to pass the hat for the rest.

He's got dates in September and November available.

I launched at the Burnet County park last week and had no problem launching as the lake level is now normal.

UPDATE #2

Boss said no. If we want to do this we have to do a fund raiser I guess. I'll send an email to JP Greeson to see if he can help.

UPDATE 3

JP said no as well. We need to get on the request list in January so he can budget the money for the year.

All I can say it's HOT!!!

That's a good sign, that the lake level will be dropping faster.. eeks
