With the success TP&W has had with their SAL program I would sayit may not be better than fork due to size but it may not be far behind especially if the state record is broken which could be 50/50. But when it does open by 2030-33, you may see at least 10-12 SAL. Should be fun to fish regardless. Just my By the time it opens, they’re gonna have to repair all the boat ramp cracks from lack of use.

I think it has a shot to be an amazing trophy bass fishery. Some of the refs in place are going to help. I would personally like to see a tournament ban or a very strict limitation on numbers. Also I would support limiting access at certain times of the yr. State parks do it now. https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/action/stock_bywater.php?WB_code=2067They have not stocked even one Florida bass in the lake according to this. https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/action/stock_bywater.php?WB_code=0433According to this, the first time they stocked Share a Lunker fish in Fork was 2006. Notice also that while they never stocked Bois d'arc with Florida bass they continue to do it at Fork, as recently as 2022. Pure florida bass grow bigger and faster than the ones produced by the share a lunker program. Also, when they were building Fork, the wildlife folks were saying the nutrients in Fork made it an ideal lake to grow big bass. I have not heard that about the new lake.

I thought all largemouth bass stocked as of 2023 will be share lunker. From 2019 in four stockings there were 95,452 Share a Lunker fish put in Bois d'arc. Plus 278,407 Lone Star Bass in one stocking. From what I understand a LSB is a fish that used a Share a Lunker mother matched with the Share a Lunker offspring that they held over to use as a brood partner. In Fork, in that same period there were 1,282,787 Pure Florida bass in four stockings. Also 35,806 Share a Lunker bass in two stockings and 1,058,605 Lone Star Bass in two stockings. The ranking of these fish, best to not best is pure Florida bass, Lone Star Bass then Lone Star Lunker bass. That is their thinking I believe. The Lone Star Bass were first introduced into lakes in 2022 and they have not had time to grow to compare to the other two.

Fork used to be the best big bass lake in the country, TPWD had something to be proud of. Fast forward a couple of decades after the lily pads and grass has been sprayed, TPWD is still trying to bring it back to it previous glory. No more glory hole anymore.

your point? or is this just another example of your bs trolling? maybe had you read the article you would have seen this,. TPWD hatcheries were successful in producing one group of pure Florida strain largemouth bass from a donated ShareLunker on their first attempt in 2018. Three additional batches of pure Florida strain largemouth bass were spawned in 2019 from ShareLunkers acquired that year. The early success of the program allowed TPWD Inland Fisheries to set a date of spring 2022 for the first spawning and statewide stocking of ShareLunker descendants. Several more batches of pure Florida ShareLunker offspring were produced since 2019 and broodfish are currently being reared at three TPWD Inland Fisheries hatcheries. like I said, they have put pure florida strain in bois d'arc for about the last 5-6 yrs. min. they stocked the ponds in secrecy and no one knew till they went public with it a couple of yrs. ago.

BDA will be great for three months.....then those fish will be beaten to death by modern electronics.
Lake Fork is so much bigger than BDA, and when it opened in the early 80s, only a few had paper graphs/flashers.
The BDA bass will be assaulted by every trick in the book shallow, mid depth, and deep every day by every jersey wearing "pro" and youtuber west of the Mississippi and will learn to avoid getting tricked.....but it'll be great for three months.
When Fork opened, it was great all the way up until LMB virus and side scan.

My point was simple. You posted an article dated 2022 when they first started stocking Lone Star Bass in Texas lakes and used the present tense as if they were going to do it this year aka "this year". I only pointed out that its not this year. This year is 2022 since thats when they posted the article. The first and only stocking of Lone Star Bass in Bois d'arc up till now was last year. 278,407 according to TPWD.
