It is very close to metromess; Sherman is a big town these days….and with modern electronics and YouTubers from all over the South; it’ll be beat after about three months.

You cant tell. Lake Bardwell has had enough bass stocked in it to walk across the lake on top of them.
But the bass fishing there is lousy.

It's a lot smaller lake. The internet and the circus will kill it.

No. Nothing will ever be like the early days of Fork. If you couldn't catch 100 bass in a weekend, you weren't fishing.

Well, clearly the TFF brain trust says not a chance, but I'm holding out some hope. I was talking about this very same thing over the weekend with someone.

if bda is bois d'arc then it may be similar, they stocked brood fish 3-4 yrs. prior to building the lake.

a lot of ponds got covered with water, game on.

With the success TP&W has had with their SAL program I would sayit may not be better than fork due to size but it may not be far behind especially if the state record is broken which could be 50/50. But when it does open by 2030-33, you may see at least 10-12 SAL. Should be fun to fish regardless.
Just my 2cents

I think it has a shot to be an amazing trophy bass fishery. Some of the refs in place are going to help. I would personally like to see a tournament ban or a very strict limitation on numbers. Also I would support limiting access at certain times of the yr. State parks do it now.
