First of all let me say I only saw one dbag that idled next to me and my lady while we were pretty secluded just to get somewhere and not catch anything. Everyone else was really nice and seemed cool. The fish were chasing bait deep in a little drop off I found in 25 feet of water but my girl isn't quite there with that depth of water so we fished some nice timber in about 13 feet of water. Once the sun was hitting the brush piles the fish moved to a different shoreline with a bit of bait and grass. Water was 73-76. Got more bites in the 73ish water for sure. Be kind out there. I could have ripped into that rude dude but he deserved the skunk apparently. God is good. You don`t suppose he thought you were someone he knew and just wanted to say hello? Nah I saw it on their faces. They knew what they were doing
When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama

I haven't been out there in a couple of years, but thought someone on here posted they had sprayed all the grass in Bastrop. Not true? Eel grass or hydrilla that you found? according to tpwd and lcra nothing procedure were performed including chemical to remove vegetation from bastrop. they opine that the excessive heat killed it off. i have been fishing bastrop since the early 70s, before eel grass was ever in the lake and i have NEVER seen it devoid of vegetation as it is now. i assume it will come back, but it di not disappear because of heat. it didnt happen in 2011. it didnt happen in 1999. it didnt happen in 1985. it has not happened since i've been fishing the lake. all of that said, the grass will come back and it will be glorious! when eel grass was just emerging in the lake (mid-late 90s) a buddy of mine as just getting into fresh water fishing. i showed him how to pitch at eel grass patches and he was hooked! (pardon the pun)
I didn't lose him at the boat. I shook him off cause I didn't want my hands to get "fishy"

(pardon the pun) You couldn't be more right, dude! I spoke to LCRA, TPWD and the Sam Gideon Power Plant and they said the same thing. We didn't do it! The Summer of 2011 was a scorcher! There were wildfires all over the place. The grass did not disappear then due to heat, and it didn't recently either. If heat was the cause, why did I find so much eel grass on the south end?

Didn't die off during a stretch of 102 degree water temps a decade or so ago. It flourished.
