First of all let me say I only saw one dbag that idled next to me and my lady while we were pretty secluded just to get somewhere and not catch anything. Everyone else was really nice and seemed cool. The fish were chasing bait deep in a little drop off I found in 25 feet of water but my girl isn't quite there with that depth of water so we fished some nice timber in about 13 feet of water. Once the sun was hitting the brush piles the fish moved to a different shoreline with a bit of bait and grass. Water was 73-76. Got more bites in the 73ish water for sure. Be kind out there. I could have ripped into that rude dude but he deserved the skunk apparently. God is good.

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

Glad you had decent time. There are for sure a few guys that play lake boss so I've learned but overall its a fun little lake. Wish I had gotten out there this morning with the late overcast and fog.

If you see a cream tracker come say high. Will share my know spots for a cold drink anytime.

That sounds nice. Oh btw the fog yesterday was probably the thickest I have seen anywhere this year.

I haven't been out there in a couple of years, but thought someone on here posted they had sprayed all the grass in Bastrop. Not true? Eel grass or hydrilla that you found?

It is 80% gone. Still some pockets. Plenty of reeds and other structure. Fish there almost every weekend.

There's a lot of fresh grass near the south. Bunch of very happy carp were tearing it up and some Vass were following them. I think maybe they kick up bait and crawfish when they are doing that maybe? Here's one of the bass I caught

I'll be out there tomorrow in a red Basscat. Holler at me if you're out there!

I posted a report on here awhile back that I considered the eel grass to be GONE. I have been fishing Bastrop for quite a few years and have never seen this lack of vegetation.

BTW - there is a p-head on every lake in the country. Don't let it get to you and keep your cool.

Went today and caught a couple before my trolling motor crapped out on me. Checked the batteries on the way home and one needs replacing. Crank bait in 15 fow and another flipping the reeds with a menace. Beautiful day and didn’t want to come home early so I side scanned a bunch of water and found a couple of brush piles I will hit the next time I go.

Out to Bastrop for the first time in several years. Sorry I missed you Spacejunkie! Fished from 7 to 1, caught 11 fish. 4 on a spinnerbait, 7 on a Tx rig, baby brush hog. Most of them around 2 pounds. The one in the picture is just under 3. Only grass I found was S.E of the dam in those two back coves. No hydrilla, just eel grass.
