I’ve done cocaine once or twice. Drank a little, inhaled Freon when I was in highscbool. Smoked a little pot.
Pretty boring life…but I was a DJ for a couple night clubs when I was 19-20. I think I may have slept with every loose piece in McClennan county. Surprise I only had crabs and never VD. You aren’t dying and this isn’t confessional. If y’all see a bunch of high end gear go up for sale for next to nothing, it’ll be my wife getting “top dollar” for all the “cheap bargain” stuff I’ve collected.

There comes a time in life that we must realize that we can't do as much as we used to. Be smart take a break drink water and hydration type drinks. Beverages that contain alcohol or caffeine are actually diuretics and will have limited to no hydration benefits. Sounds to me like you got dehydrated and well on the way to heatstroke. There is no superman

Sooo... The OT has diagnosed your symptoms, and to sum it up you need a jar of pickles and a GIANT penicillin shot.

Dan, 106F? Well thats discouraging. I'll be up at Madeline Island in a couple weeks and was hoping to escape this inferno. I was outside for 40 minutes yesterday (in feels like 108), not doing anything particvulaly strenous but couldn't cool off for over an hour after.

Ive had it. When it first hit me I could't stand. Went to the ER. One of the meds they give you for it has Claritin in it and I am allergic. Valium helped but it also made me worthless. It got better but for 3 months or so I felt like everything was sort of spinning around me like the rings of jupiter. Still hits me if I go over a bad bump at highway speeds. I instantly get the feeling you get when you get to the top of a roller coaster. Driving at night the lights of oncoming traffic can trigger it. Since i have had it I HATE going over tall bridges. I take the DNT to 121 twice a day. Each direction I exit early, and use the service road just to avoid it.
Hope it gets better Steeze

My wife gets it so bad she can’t drive. The doctor does a maneuver I believe they call Elpey. It’s supposed to realign crystal in her ear. I think there are a number of other maneuvers they do as well. It takes a while for it to go away. I battled with this a couple of times the last year or so. If I turned over on my left side in bed I would fight to get up and stop spinning. Made many right hadnd turns when walking bouncing off of walls. This last time I was talking with my next door neighbor who had been to the doctor and was told to watch a particular youtube video. It showed her 3 exercises to reallign crystal in her ear. I thought the exercise that showed to get into the position that gets you dizzy and stay there and it would work it's way out. I did this a couple of times and cannot believe that it worked and I have been fine ever since after dealing with it for weeks. It is hell to get older. The last couple of months I have been in the hospital battling a Bowel Obstruction from using Ozempic for my Type 2 Diabetes and just got through my eye injections for Vein Occlusion swelling behind the eye which was also affected by the Ozempic. But at least for now I am pretty much back to normal which is good, I have a fishing tournament coming up.

Sounds more like a heat stroke/heat exhaustion...
I agree with this. Add dehydration. if you're dehydrated fluid in the ear is also "dehydrated". That is your sense of balance.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it !

Only thing I would add to this high level of medical care is this. I would just watch your shortness of breath and be aware of it if it happens again. If you’re just doing your thing and all of a sudden you are needing to take a couple of deep breaths. That’s what lead to my issues.

Never heard of vertigo causing shortness of breath, but I've never had it, either. My aunt had it as did a friend several years ago...definitely don't remember either one mentioning that. CCTX would be the one I'd ask about it. This heat exhaustion is serious stuff and will take more than a few days to recover from. I had it years ago and still don’t tolerate working in heat like I used to.

I went non-stop last week and earlier this week. I went on a road trip and didn’t eat good, sleep good, or generally take care of myself. I got home Monday night and went fishing Tuesday. It was soooo freakin hot. I got dizzy…really dizzy and short of breath. So bad, I told my fishing buddy to run the TM and I sat down. For 2-1/2 hours I threw a senko from the drivers seat like a grandpa. Yesterday, I didn’t do much, as I felt kinda “iffy”. This morning, I got up early and changed the oil on the truck and some other maintenance. Then I started power washing my driveway and almost passed out. Got really dizzy, and couldn’t get my breath. I thought I was having a heart attack or something. So, I came into the house and took a shower….just in case I had to dial 911, I didn’t want to be dirty. OCD. About 10:30, my wife was getting concerned and asked if I wanted her to call our doctor. I said yes. Well…. X-ray of chest front and side was normal EKG was normal Blood pressure was 117/78 Blood sugar was a little high, but not serious They did a lot of physical tests and decided I had vertigo. Does vertigo cause shortness of breath? Am I just being a [censored]? He prescribed me a motion sickness medication. I’ve been on baits and planes my entire life and have never had motion sickness. He said I’ll be fine in a week or so…….if I ain’t dead I guess. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/QTB6FLN.gif)

I have lived with it for 40 years. My first bout lasts 6 to 8 weeks, with severe spinning and nausea lasting a couple of hours. Afterwards I slept for a few hours. I was diagnosed with Maniere’s diesese. A term used when they don’t really know what is wrong with the ears, in the 80’s there was not a lot of research on the condition. My ENT said, it may continue or it my go away, It went away and came back every now and then.
It came back when I contracted an autoimmune diesese after my second Covid shot. It took my various doctors a year to diagnose the condition and vertigo hit me several times a week for that year. I lost 100 pounds during that year, from the autoimmune issue and no desire to eat from being nauseous all the time. After diagnoses and meds, along with diet changes and drinking 2 gallons of water a day I’ve been vertigo free for the last year. I also get my chiropractor to adjust my neck / head and get massages on my neck and shoulder to increase blood flow and nerve signals to the ears.
Good luck, I don’t wish Vertigo on anyone. My ENT has told me (off the record) that it has increased since Covid shots.
