The only thing worse than a porta potty in the wintertime is a porta potty in the summertime.

Have used them in server rooms, they work. Just like any air conditioner you just have to exhaust the hot air.

2 years ago I used a 12,000 BTU portable AC unit in a 39 foot fifth wheel when I went back to school. Worked fine but never got below 86-88 during the hot summer days in Texas. Would finally start cooling down really well when the sun was setting. Also, the fifth wheel was underneath a very large carport at the RV park.
Had the exhaust out one window in the living room. I did wrap the exhaust hose with a number of towels to reduce extra heat radiation.

We have the Honeywell model. It works well. We used it to cool off the enclosed patio area last year and once we used it in an emergency when our central air unit died. It will cool off a typical bedroom pretty well. They sell an insulated exhaust hose covering that is worth it to help reduce unwanted heating effects from the exhaust hose in the room. it is pretty loud as you would expect, but again, it cooled off a 15 x 20 bedroom pretty good in a pinch. We bought it at Best Buy.

We have one for out BBQ tent and it’s amazing
10x20 enclosed tent will freeze you out even on the 4th of July

Just don’t let the generator running run out of gas

I have my emergency winter power outage stuff pretty much figured out and supplied. Been looking at one of these portables,, maybe around 10,000 btu for any summer short term power outage survival, to be run off a 3650/4650 generator.

Keep the door closed and it'll cool the bedroom. Closet.

I researched for an emergency ac myself. Ended up with an 8k BTU window unit. Better BTU output for the $.

Which unit you running? Every one I’ve used or been around would keep it bearable at best. Definitely not cold.
