Yes they're good motors... The GT series were awesome... Have you seen the numbers still on the lake running after all these years???... Dan

My Bass Champs partner bought a brand new Falcon boat we are fishing out of this year and has his Legend for sale. I am going to get the info on it and post it for him.

Its that simple because people pay it. If profits were set at an amount vs a percentage prices wouldnt have went up as much. Seems pretty simple to make that change but why would a business feel the need to change when people are bending over so quickly to take it

The Evinrude XP and Johnson GT are bad dudes. I think they are actually 175hp motor that was sold as a 150

The SHO 200-250 is an F300 in black and silver paint. The SHO 150-175 is an F200 with a weak tune…..and a paint job.

Also outboard EPA regulations caused the cost of outboards to shoot up at the same time. I learned this spending some time with a Skeeter rep.
Moving on down the road to our current state I believe COVID parts shortages initially started the price increases and the price increases just got more traction as government money began to trickle into the market. I talked to one dealer that said they were selling every boat they could get their hands on for premium prices on mostly cash deals because folks were using the PPP money to buy them. PPP is the business loans folks were getting to help with COVID recovery from the government. I'm not even sure these loans were going to be required to be paid back.
With this last round of increases; before interest rates started shooting up, were probably more of a "let's see how hard we can squeeze the consumer". I know right now if you drive by a boat dealer or look at their inventory on the internet they are loaded to the hilt and the boat manufacturers are beginning to offer deals again. Things have definitely slowed down considerably so it will be interesting to see what things will be like a year from now.

Good friend of mine and very long time boat dealer has a ton of boats on his lots, I am not saying he is not selling them but I have never seen him have so many boats in his inventory. I think the folks who paid top dollar for new boats ( including me ) will have a hard time getting anywhere near what they had to pay for them, does not really bother me, I am in no hurry to get another boat any time soon. The used market on 2021 and newer will most likely not be good for the sellers, I think boats that were purchased prior to the covid hoax will likely be ok for the seller since they did not pay inflated covid prices. jmo
I shopped for about a year and a half once I got my ducks in a row to pull the trigger. I bought my ZX200 and almost immediately it shot up in value almost 50%.
I may upgrade this winter mainly to get FFS sonar, a spot lock TM, and possibly go lighter in a tin rig to save fuel towing. I paid big enough of a down payment that even if I sold my rig for slightly less than what I paid for it, I'd have a lot of equity going into the next rig.
The inventories are definitely high, about the only dealer that looks like they are turning some boats around here is Diamond Sports down at Fork but I believe they have a steady source of guides upgrading and a locally wealthy clientele as well.

I would advise you to not go into business with this strategy, you may make it but odds are not in your favor.

If the boat has a quality engine and accessories I would not be afraid at all to buy a Legend, always liked the way they looked, sharp boats.

fast strike 175, monte racing worked it over before it was mounted the first time, dyno was 220 at prop. I was second owner, first decided to swap to a vmax 175/phase III from hydro tec, engine had less than 100 hrs. when I got it.

champion 184 would run 68 loaded all day long, 73 wasn't hard if lighter. yeah, they were the industrial outboards and would last forever if taken care of.
