Seems like there is alot of cash buyers in the market in my opinion, gotta be a price issue and concern about hull warranty. Price will sell it.

Also summer is usually slow for bass boats.

I have no clue as I've never fished out of one.
I can say Randy Qualls was a friend and the boats were praised by anyone who owned one while they were being built.
A lot of people compared the ride to a Champion which is saying they had one of the best rough water boats around.

I look at it like I would for any old boat. The boat has few manufacturer specific parts that are prone to fail.
White River Group still provides warranty if you qualify.

If I were looking for a new used boat I would have no qualms looking at a boat that was no longer being made.
Legends never looked like the kind of boat I'd buy but then again my kind of boat most people don't look at either.

And those that do have cash don't want a used boat, unless it's a smoking deal.

in the bass fishing world whatever boat that you currently have is the best boat in the world. some have stronger feelings than others.

Its nice to see decent deals coming back on boats. Like posted above...... any boat will sell for the right price. But when you can get a fully rigged brand new boat with a 250 on it for in the 70s again why would you ever buy a 2-3 year old boat with X number of hours on it in the high 60s? We are not far away from some real dark days as far as most buyers ability to purchase anything let alone expensive toys. Thank your administration for that one.

I don't think Legends sold real well for local dealers when they were still in business.

I would rather buy a used boat than brand new the loss is like a new truck, the minute it leaves the lot 10% can be deducted.

not hard with the puter printouts, dealer inspections pre purchase etc. to come up with how good the boat is.

if it is what you want and can afford, jump on it imo.

I agree, the times are about to revert to carter type economy. not gonna be good around christmas I think.

This...

I can see the argument about Evinrude because towards the end they didn't have a strong dealer network so finding someone to service or repair could be a problem for some people... But the boat itself???... There's nothing on a boat that any good shop can't repair or replace... If it's priced right in decent shape, transom is solid I'd buy it in a heartbeat, if I was looking... But them again I bought a Stratos 200XL the year before they discontinued that model and a Stratos Champion 210 Elite, it was the boat used for the catalog photo shoot... One of the last 6 made before WRMG axed the whole Champion line... I knew each was going to be discounted before I bought them, and when I sold them each sold within a week after I advertised them... I own a 2012 Legend with an Evinrude so I'm kind of screwed. But both have been very reliable since i keep up the proper maintenance on them. As far as a rough water boat it by far is the driest and smoothest that i have ridden in.

Newer high end used boats are selling some, because you can buy basically a new boat at a discount, motors have 3-5 years warranty and you'll be able to get warranty on the hull as a second owner in most cases. On the other end, cash boats $5-25K are selling because they are affordable.

I do know someone that traded in a Legend V20 a few months back and got a really good trade in price.

Anything fiberglass that is built after 2000 and isn't beat to [censored] under $20k is selling like hotcakes still. These high prices prices and normal interest rates are killing the slightly used market. Why would I take a loan at 10% interest on a 2 year old boat with 150 hours when I could buy a new one with a lower interest rate and only slightly higher price.

If you cannot get below 10% for a boat right now, your credit is terrible.

If you can buy a boat that is under 3 years old, has 3+ years warranty, all the goodies and can save $15-20K off a new one and you say it's not a better value than the same boat new, then you may need a financial advisor.

As for finding a 2000 year model plus for under $20K they are out there. Yes they sell fast, but if you're buying you're a buyer and you can purchase them.

The prices are not killing the market, the market is dictating what a boat will bring at this time. The mentality that prices of anything except commodities that vary in price, will decline ever is a pipe dream at best. In 2010 or so boat manufactures said cost to build glass boats had risen because of petroleum prices, which made sense at the time. They also said they had to raise prices to offset the materials costs and could possibly lower them when the petro costs come down, well it came down and no prices were ever reduced. The market drives prices for luxury items. If the market can support a price that is the price that a product will be sold.

Nobody needs a boat, it's a luxury item and not everyone can afford luxury items at all times in their lives. But, if you want to afford something, it's attainable.

As for the OP, most people do not want a boat that is from a manufacturer that is no longer in existence unless it's a "deal". But, there are people out there that value Legend Boats and will pay market value.

Just my opinion

I agree, the times are about to revert to carter type economy. not gonna be good around christmas I think.

My boat will turn 3 years old this fall. I can sell it today for exact same price I paid for it then.

It's ok to feel that confident if you were selling, but it will sell for what someone is willing to pay for it. You can list it for what you paid, but sometimes the selling price can be another thing. Obviously, with new prices being where they are, all of us boat owners are in a good position right now.
