No matter how much I spend I feel that way. I dont buy stuff because someone else likes it or "approves" of it. Ikons are well out of my price range but I like them and hope they sell a bunch. I happy for the guys that can afford one.

This.....

I'd say 2 of the more popular brands in Texas you see right now are Skeeter and Phoenix. Both are well over $100k for a FXR or Elite/PHX. I think the part that alot of guys forget is electronics. You can tear up $15k-$20k in the blink of an eye in graphs and wiring.

Boat companies produce "X" amount of boats per year. As long as they sell all those boats, they don't care who buys them and at what cost. Until they stop selling, they won't come down. You can see that it is starting to get tougher though because you are seeing current year rebates being offered. BUT...the main people buying boats right now are the people that can write a check for them same day. If you do a 15-20 year boat loan at 8-10%, you need a financial advisor!!

I'd be happy to do a 10% loan if the price was $20,000. The PRICES are the insane part, not the interest rates.

Not sure if I'd call it a Gamechanger but it is a very nice boat built by a company that has an outstanding record for building $3 to $5mm yachts.

Watch the BTL podcast with Jacob Wheeler. He says the boat is a 63 to 68 mph boat and I believe it. That is on the slower end of the spectrum for 21 foot boats with a 250 but it is a very large wide hull. The boat is actually just 2" shy of 22 feet.

In the podcast Wheeler admits the boat is not a fast hull. That is not what they were going for. It is a high-end flagship boat built by a high-end company. There will be smaller less expensive models coming but they did not want to set a precedence of being just another bass boat brand that builds average boats. They want to be known as the brand that builds the Bentley. He also said they would be introducing other models that weren't as blinged out in the future. I personally appreciate that business model.

A famous historian said, “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.” That is how I conduct business. If you take 5 bids from companies in my industry I will not be low bid. We bring the Best Value in the industry but it ain't cheap.

I know I'll get roasted for this but I have never been a fan of Skeeter. I think paying $84K for a 21 FXR is ludicrous but that's just my opinion after seeing 65% of them going back to the factory for build quality issues. And as Tim & Sinkey pointed out you can get a 21 FXR up over $100K adding electronics.

I've owned 7 new Vettes and two Lambos. Were the Lambos twice as fast? Did they get me from point A to point B any faster than the Vettes? Were the Lambos worth twice as much as a loaded Z06 Vette? To me they were.

Do I think a 21' iKon is "worth" $135K loaded? Maybe.... I'm just saying don't throw stones at something you have never experienced.

The cost is the cost, they aren’t selling at some inflated multiple because of market demand. If sales crate tomorrow boats won’t be selling for half price unless they are willing to lose money or features are dropped.

Weidas marine posted a video a few weeks back with the measurements of the front deck of the Ikon. Then he just did one yesterday of the measurements of the front deck of the Skeeter FXR. As big as the Ikon looks up front, its only 5" wider up front. Thats barely bigger than the width of my flip flop. So to give up 10+ mph on speed is not worth it to me to fit and extra flip flop up front!

Wow. Not only that, but the Ikons look ugly as sin AND cost an extra $40k over the FXR.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

What is the 21’ Ikon rated for? There’s plenty of Jaguars out with 350-450hp. I mean obviously Ikon was going for more of the “luxury” market. Maybe someone could throw a 450 on one and [censored] 70 lol
