Sat June 3 -- Water temp 80 degrees
--------------------------------------------------

Multi-tasking morning. Got up at early to put a brisket on the smoker and once I thought I had the temp stabilized headed out to catch some crappie at 7:45am. The first spot I hit had a guide with 4 fisherman on it. This is a hump with 20 - 30 different brushpiles so I moved to a spot far enough away from them and caught a couple fish. Once they left I moved over and found a big school. Caught 3 more fairly quickly and then checked the temp on my smoker and the temp had dropped too low. Headed back in to fix the smoker and headed back out at 9am to a different spot. Caught 4 more in about 30 minutes and then decided to fish a school of whites spalshing around close to me. Caught 3 hybrids and 7 whites and then moved to another spot to resume crappie fishing. Hit two spots to catch 12 and headed back in to tend to the brisket.

Overall, 12 crappie in about 2 hours all caught in 16 - 20 FOW on 1/8 pink jig head with ghost minnow thump chubby.

Thanks yall..

Sun June 4th
------------------
Fished from 6:30 - 9:00, caught 25 all on 1/8 pink jig head with thump chubby in ghost minnow color. The fish I caught during the first hour were all in 15 FOW. The remainder were caught in 20 FOW.

The fish wanted lots of movement today and yesterday. They would not hit my jig if I just dropped it down vertically and held it. Almost all fish were caught by pitching out and drifting pretty fast over the top of the pile. I caught I few by a vertical fast pull away, almost like you do with a slab for sandies. I've caught lots of crappie before when I would gradually and smoothly pull the jig away but they wanted it much faster and wouldn't hit the slower pull away.

Didn't keep any today but here are some picks of 3 of the bigger fish. That top one is the greenest black crappie I've ever caught -- the picture doesn't really do it justice. It was a darker color of green than a largemouth.

This was one of those weekends where the fishing was tough ....

June 10 -- water temp 80 degrees -- 4 fish in 45 minutes
---------------------------------------------
Only fished for 45 minutes ... had to compete with a 100+ boat bass tournament and they were fishing the same spots as me ... some were very inconsiderate. Caught 4 before getting frustrated with the traffic and heading to the house.

June 11 -- water temp 80 degrees -- 13 fish in 2.5 hours
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fished from 7am to 9:30 and really had to work hard. The good news is there were no bass fisherman swarming around me, the bad news ... there was 0 wind. I don't know about the rest of you but I find it very difficult to get lined up on small brush piles when there is no wind to help steady to boat. I fished all main lake humps in 15 - 20 FOW. The best fish were in 20 FOW, saw a lot of unders today and had to fight to get my jig down to the bigger fish.

All fish caught on 1/8 oz pink jig head with ghost minnow thump chubby. Only a couple fish hit the jig when dropped or held still vertically, the rest were caught by pitching and drifting over the top of the piles with a lot of speed. I did briefly experiment with downsizing to 1/32 oz hair jig that usually kills them in Aug/September but they weren't interested.

All fish released ... here are a he bigger 13" - 14" fish from today:
