This was one of those weekends where the fishing was tough ....
June 10 -- water temp 80 degrees -- 4 fish in 45 minutes
---------------------------------------------
Only fished for 45 minutes ... had to compete with a 100+ boat bass tournament and they were fishing the same spots as me ... some were very inconsiderate. Caught 4 before getting frustrated with the traffic and heading to the house.
June 11 -- water temp 80 degrees -- 13 fish in 2.5 hours
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fished from 7am to 9:30 and really had to work hard. The good news is there were no bass fisherman swarming around me, the bad news ... there was 0 wind. I don't know about the rest of you but I find it very difficult to get lined up on small brush piles when there is no wind to help steady to boat. I fished all main lake humps in 15 - 20 FOW. The best fish were in 20 FOW, saw a lot of unders today and had to fight to get my jig down to the bigger fish.
All fish caught on 1/8 oz pink jig head with ghost minnow thump chubby. Only a couple fish hit the jig when dropped or held still vertically, the rest were caught by pitching and drifting over the top of the piles with a lot of speed. I did briefly experiment with downsizing to 1/32 oz hair jig that usually kills them in Aug/September but they weren't interested.
All fish released ... here are a he bigger 13" - 14" fish from today:
