I had a friend who always bragged about buying up houses in Mart to build his rental portfolio. Most of his purchases were less than $50K. I used to call him a slum lord. Those graduation rates probably reflect the tough economic times in that little town.

Seems a fair amount of tbis is happening this year.some articles are saying lot of is a result of the COVID restrictions hurting the educational process.

sounds like this school is holding students accountable for attendance
many kids miss 20, 30, 40 days of school or more...to get around what this school is doing, schools now offer "make up school" and Saturday school..so you can go to school on Saturday and make up 8 absences

I do understand some people still do it the old school way Both of my kids home schooled from 7th grade to graduation. It is somewhat interactive, but not as much as you may think. This was also 10-15 years ago.
