Mark I amazed daily how words are totally taken wrong on here lately. It's like guys are just looking to argue. I dealt with it a few weeks ago. I reread your post 3 times. I never once took it as slamming the co-anglers. I've been a co-angler 1 time. It was a blast. I got to fish 3 days with a pro, but actually enjoyed watching as much as fishing. I for 1 would pay just to be an observer. But I would pick a lake that FFS did not play a role in.

Not allowed, has come up before (maybe on the other board). Somethinng about it having/requiring GPS, and that is what is not allowed for the co.

This thread brings up a question. In spilt bag tournaments when there aren't enough Co's to fill the field do some Pros fish by themselves? In your opinion would this give a Pro an advantage over other competitors that have a second angler in their boat? Just wondering.

A lot of that also has to do with the new 30-day off limits period. Not many people are willing to not fish their home lake for a month.

I would love to see a solo series for these qualifiers. Its not like they will have a co angler with them at the next level.

Im thinking next year there will be a new division as the EQ without COs and the opens will be the qualifier for that division

No way BASS does another division or trail. In this one they get 2 in 1 and make a ton of money doing it. If opens fed another division what are we talking 75 boats? 25 from each open divisions? They would also take away from the opens so have more tournaments with the same amount of anglers.

This open EQ was a massive success for BASS. Not counting any sponsor money they’re making nearly 200k each tournament from pro side. I doubt anyone thought nearly 200 anglers would sign up for it. Hopefully they put the Opens on body’s of water that fit the size moving forward. What are they getting 225-250 on the pro side at every event? 5 days of prefish, that’s beating on a lake.

BASS doesn't have the manpower resources to create another division of qualifiers that travels the country. Won't happen. What you see now will not change for the next few years.

I've heard/read somewhere recently about a possible 3rd leauge for BASS, as they are missing a layer akin to the Toyota/TWI/BPT model... not sure if it was here or over on TOS. Don't know how valid the discussion was, but it's out there.
