I have outlived most of my favorite dives:
The original Herrera's on Maple Avenue in Dallas. Hole in the Wall on Harry Hines in Dallas. Guey Sam's in Chicago's Chinatown. The Original Hot Dog Shop just off the Pitt campus in Pittsburgh
Gone but not forgotten. Hole in the Wall cranked out some great burgers and was truly a dive. It even shared a small building with a dive shop!

Rick's on the Bricks in Cowtown was great back in the day! It was on Camp Bowie and it was the best. Best $10 cheeseburger out there at the time, that and a side of honey mustard for the fries.

Is this a fat bodies thread? I just don’t think about food that much. Good luck on your journey.

Muellers was everything I expected it to be and more. Best brisket I have ever had. Brisket is great and it was the first place I ever saw dinosaur ribs on the menu.

Ken’s Chicken and Fish in Breckenridge. Never had the chicken but the fish is the best I have ever had. You had better be hungry if you order the onion rings.
I fish on the edge and stay out of the middle

deep Ellum I remember back in the day when Adairs was on Cedar Springs. So do I, and that was certainly a dive, but the beer was cold, the burgers were great and the women were hot!!!

Joe Allens Pit BBQ in Abilene. Last time I ate there was 1985 or 86, I was doing some short term work at the TI site there. At that time it was "THE BBQ" place. I remember the food was great. Not so much any more for the BBQ.

What was that little diner called on Cedar Springs beside the Melrose Hotel? I can't seem to recall it.
